This cookie policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on the website of the Dr. Milanovski dental practice in Skopje, why we need them and what choices you have. We have written it as simply as we can, with as little legal jargon as possible.
We do not use cookies for advertising.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. When you return to the site, your browser sends them back to it. This lets the website remember certain settings, for example that you have already chosen which cookies to accept.
Some cookies are deleted as soon as you close your browser. Others stay for a set time or until you delete them yourself. A cookie can be set by the website itself or by another service whose content is embedded in the site, such as a map.
Your browser’s local storage works in a similar way. The law makes no distinction between the two: what matters is whether information is stored on your device or read from it. That is why this policy covers both cookies and entries in local storage.
The cookies we use
We divide them into two groups: essential cookies, which are always on, and analytics cookies, which are used only with your consent.
Essential cookies (always on)
These cookies are needed for the website to work securely and to show you the content you ask for. That is why the law allows them to be used without your prior consent. They are not used for advertising, and they do not track you on other websites.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| __cf_bm (Cloudflare) | Helps to recognise automated and malicious traffic (bots) and protects the website against it. | 30 minutes after your last activity |
| dm_consent (this website) | Remembers your choice in the cookie banner, so that we do not ask you again. It is set only after you have made a choice. | 180 days |
| wordpress_…, wp-settings-… (WordPress) | Login sessions and settings for the editors who maintain the website. Visitors who do not log in do not receive them. | While logged in; settings up to 1 year |
If Cloudflare notices unusual traffic, it may ask you to complete a quick check to show that you are not a robot. Once you pass the check, it may set a cf_clearance cookie, so that you are not checked again every time you open a page.
Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
If analytics is switched on for the website, we use Google Analytics 4. It gives us aggregate statistics: which pages people read, in which language and on what type of device. This helps us make our information clearer and easier to find.
The reports are aggregated and cannot reveal who you are. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga (Google) | Distinguishes between visitors, for aggregate statistics. | 2 years |
| _ga_… (Google) | Keeps track of your current visit (session). | 2 years |
These cookies are set only after you click ‘Accept all’, or after you switch on ‘Analytics’ in ‘Cookie settings’ and click ‘Save preferences’. If you choose ‘Essential only’, Google Analytics does not load at all.
Google Analytics data is processed by Google and may be transferred outside North Macedonia. You can read more about who receives the data and about transfers abroad in our privacy policy.
What is kept in local storage
The website may also save two short entries in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device and are not sent to our server automatically. They are kept until you clear this website’s data in your browser.
- dm_consent: your cookie choice, so that we can respect it on every page.
- dm_lang_suggest: a record that you have already responded to the suggestion to view the website in another language, so that it is not shown to you again.
Protecting the appointment request form
To protect against spam, the appointment request form may use a check from Cloudflare called Turnstile. It processes technical data, such as your IP address and the type of browser you use, to distinguish people from automated programs.
Cloudflare states that the purpose of this processing is not to identify, profile or track individuals. Cloudflare also uses this data to improve its own bot protection.
The map loads only when you click
Wherever we show the location of the practice, you will first see the address and a ‘Show the map’ button instead of the map itself. Until you click it, nothing is loaded from Google, so Google cannot set cookies through the map.
When you click, the map loads from Google Maps. Google then receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, as Google explains in How Google uses cookies.
We do not remember that click: each time you return to the page, the map waits for you to click again.
If you would rather not load the map, the address is all you need: Bul. Jane Sandanski 96, 1000 Skopje (Aerodrom), North Macedonia, near the Biser shopping centre. The ‘Open in Google Maps’ link takes you straight to the location on Google’s own website.
Links to other websites
Our links to Instagram, Facebook, Google and Viber are ordinary links. They do not set any cookies while you are on our website. Once you open them, those services’ own cookie and privacy policies apply.
How to change your choice
The choice is yours, and you can change it at any time. You can withdraw your consent in two clicks, in the same cookie banner you used to give it.
- Cookie settings. When the website uses analytics, you will find a ‘Cookie settings’ link at the bottom of every page. Click it, then choose ‘Essential only’. You can also switch ‘Analytics’ on or off and click ‘Save preferences’.
- Browser settings. In your browser, you can delete or block cookies and website data. After you delete them, the cookie banner will appear again.
- Cookies already saved. If you accepted analytics and later change your mind, Google Analytics will no longer load. To remove any _ga cookies that are already saved, delete them in your browser settings.
If you block all cookies, some parts of the website may not work as they should. In that case, you can still book an appointment by phone.
What the law says
In North Macedonia, cookies are governed by the Law on Electronic Communications (Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia, no. 135/2025; the text is in Macedonian). Under Article 198(5), information may be stored on your device or read from it only with your consent, which you give after receiving clear and comprehensive information, in particular about the purpose.
Consent is not needed for technical storage that allows a communication to be transmitted over the network. Nor is it needed where storage is necessary to provide a service you have explicitly asked for. That is why essential cookies are always on, while analytics cookies are used only if you opt in.
Where cookies involve personal data, the Law on Personal Data Protection (Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia, no. 42/2020) also applies. Consent must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous, and expressed by a clear affirmative action, such as clicking a button. You can withdraw it at any time.
Your rights, including the right to complain to the Personal Data Protection Agency (azlp.mk), are described in our privacy policy.
Changes to this cookie policy
We update this cookie policy whenever we add or remove a tool that stores information on your device or reads information from it. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
